I didn't vote to put anyone in office. I voted to voice my support for the Libertarian Party. I hate the party system but as long as it's here I'm supporting Libertarians. And, in my life, whoever got elected would not affect me very much, so what difference does it make? Change would have been nice. But, we can now see if Bush will concisely finish what he started. If the US becomes a theocracy.............there goes the neighborhood........... |

You do know that Bush's political party belief will further screw over your kids as they enter the job market. Bush support outsourcing. By the way, hope you have some savings, social secuity isn't going to last.
Quote: Every year, The U.S. Treasury publishes a "Financial Report of the United States Government."
Contrary to the misleading cash-basis accounting (which ignores future liabilities)used by the political/media axis, this report applies standard GAAP (Generally Agreed Accounting Principles) accounting.
As you would expect, the picture is worse -- much worse -- than with cash accounting.
The most recent report was issued in Feb. 2004. It is signed by Treas Secty John Snow, backed by a report from the General Accounting Office, signed by David Walker, Comptroller General.
The report reveals that the negative net worth of the US government at the end of FY 2003, including unfunded Social Security and Medicare promises, was more than $34 trillion. That's over $100,000 for every person in America, including the elderly, disabled, babies, and teenagers ... probably about $200,000 for every working stiff in America.
It also reveals that the finances of the Defense Department are completely out of control (probably because of the black budget).
Toward the back of the 147-page report are charts showing Social Security and Medicare deficits going exponential, blowing out the trust funds, and shooting like rockets off the right top corner of the graph.
To be blunt: if you are operating under the delusion of receiving a pension and health care from the USG during retirement, you will be forever disabused of that notion by reading this report.
The debts -- and worse, the unfunded empty promises -- are hopelessly beyond the range that could ever be raised by taxing and borrowing. (Only hyperinflation could make them go away.)
And as the report admits, nothing is being done to address the shortfall; it is only snowballing year after year.
Here's the html link to the cover page, from which the pdf subsections of the report can be accessed: http://www.fms.treas.gov/fr/
*** See also: "Government Economic Reports: Things You've Suspected but Were Afraid to Ask! -- Federal Deficit Reality" http://www.gillespieresearch.com/cgi-bin/s/article/id=278
There are two possible outcomes.
1| Default by the USG to it creditors and the end of the USD as the world reserve currency.
2| "Weimar Republic" style hyper-inflation in the US.
Both are ruinous.
The reality is that foreign central banks, esp Japan and China, have been supporting the US economy and lifestyle since the collapse of the internet bubble. http://www.gillespieresearch.com/cgi-bin/s/article/id=278
"The U.S. government's fiscal ills have spun wildly out of control and no longer are containable within the existing system. As detailed in this article, the actual annual shortfall in U.S. government operations for fiscal year 2003 (September 30) was $3.7 trillion. Put in perspective, that means if the U.S. Treasury had seized all wages and salaries in 2003 with a 100% income tax, there still would have been a deficit! The outlook for fiscal 2004 numbers is even worse."
I can't recall the last time I bought something that had a "Made in the USA" label?
Another very serious problem is the dumbing down of the US education system.
"Illiteracy shockingly high in L.A. Half of workers unable to read" http://www.dailynews.com/Stories/0,1413,20...2388909,00.html
The link above is corrupt. here's a back-up link http://www.pushhamburger.com/shocking.htm
Don't know if this is true, but the trend doesn't bode well.
*** The U.S. economy is looking mighty shaky. Debt looks unclearable. Future prospects look bleak. All that is true.
What does it mean? Historically, when a world superpower found itself in a position of decreasing power and influence while simultaneously controlling the greatest war capability, it has led to ... you guessed it ...
WAR... |
|
Intresting.......US will probably go to war with China seeing that China is "communist". They would want to "free" the Chinese people.

China is really "communist" you know. A REAL communist nation would not be open to other nations to trade. It's like Capitalism and socialism hybrid

Hey, here's question...How do humans have a right to stop working. We need to survive and unless you're incapasitated in some way, working is good. Keeps your mind and body busy and healthy. So...retire from one job and move on to something more fun, but don't stop working just because you're old. Whoever made work a four letter word should be slapped. It's all in your attitude. Doesn't attitude make a big difference in how we experience things. Think about it.

you think thats what i do? you'd be very wrong. i'm not a goth depressed moron who just wants to be dead but doesn't have the nerve to kill himself. i'm merly a very negative person. i try to help change the world and myself for the nbetter and i;m trying to find a job i like but i have the freedom to feel. and i don't feel very positivly about this whole thing, turning out the best way. and i dont wanna settle.

actually that's good. don't settle. unless you make a family, then you HAVE to take care of them and changing jobs all the time as a dad SUCKS ROyally for the kids. I know, I know, you're not going to be a dad, at least not for a very long time....I'm just sayin'... but anyhow, keep going for something better till you're happy. While you're young............. and unobstructed with responsibility to others.

Hey, did anyone watch the innoguration? There were several ex presidents represented there. And I think that a person who is elected president should be able to choose whether there is a prayer or not. Bush wanted one so there was one. If the next person doesn't then, so be it. After all, it is a ceremony. The important part is public, that's all that really counts,...the swearing in...the rest is ceremony and pagentry......
